This beautiful and practical extending European oak dining table is being reluctantly sold on behalf of a client who wants to downsize.

It’s a real one-off and has a very innovative extending mechanism where the legs pull out and always remain at the corners – meaning they never end up getting in anyone’s way. The framework slides apart easily on nylon pins but the structure remains robust enough to dance on (should you wish!) The spare leaves are both be stored within the frame on a long hidden ‘leaf drawer’ which is accessed by dropping down a hinged end rail cover.

The table extends from its smallest form of 210cm long (6 to 8 seat format) to 300cm maximum length with both 45cm leaves in (10 to 12 seat format). With just the one leaf in the middle the table measures 255cm long (8 to 10 seat format). This obviously gives huge flexibility in terms of format and how a room around it can be used.

It’s in near perfect condition and has been very well looked after. For most of its life it’s been used with one of the centre leaves left in its 255cm size format, which means that the leaf that was stored in the internal leaf draw and has been largely unused and is a slightly lighter colour due to UV light on the rest of the table in this bright space.

Designed and made in our workshops in 2014, it’s a rare opportunity to buy a piece like this in such great condition at a very reasonable price.

Of course similar tables can be designed and are available to commission in other timbers and different sizes.
